1. like lots of musicians
I have a guitar that used to go in and out of pawn shops regularly. A Gibson 150. a couple of years ago I inherited a friend's pawn shop guitar, a Les Paul Recording. Last time I hawked my guitar was about 14 years ago in order to give a desperate buddy $50.00. My wife hit the roof when she found out. Prior to that I probably hawked that guitar 20 times over the years. My buddy told he hawked his Les Paul at least as often.

4. lost count
god only knows how many times I've ran short on money over the years and have had to temporarily liquidate an asset to get by until the next paycheck.

Fortunately, one of my best friends is the music guy at one of the bigger shops in town, so I know he is there to look after my stuff.

It never feels good when I have to to it, but it's a "have to" world I'm living in these days :(

6. A few times
It's been a few years now, but, I tell you what I'd much rather use a pawn shop than deal with a payday loan outfit. I've never done that, but I hear it can snowball into a nightmare very fast.
