So...they gave them a classier sounding title.
But didn't raise the pay much.

1. No, now it's "Administrative Professionals" day.

And back in the days when I was an administrative assistant, becoming a secretary would have been a promotion.

I was not an "Administrative Professional." I was not a "professional" at all - I was an administrative assistant. Period. In an earlier era, my job title would have been "clerk."

If the intent is to honor support staff, I think changing the name to Administrative Professionals Day is silly. My boss was the administrator. He was the professional. I was the clerk.
