Gods I cannot wait for this week to be over.
The antibiotics I was on were not working. Apparently I have a resistant type of pneumonia. Doctor gave me new "big gun" antibiotic (he made an analogy - the AB I was on is "baby aspirin" and the new one I am on is "Morphine").

This antibiotic has the dizziness and disorientation side effect. I was walking down the stairs last night, thought I had reached the bottom stair when I had three stairs left to go. Came down and rolled my ankle - spraining it in two places.

Could someone please just send me to the glue factory. This ol' mare has been rode hard and put away wet.

:evilfrown:

1. Awwwww, get some rest, plenty of fluid and make sure someone carries you up and
down the stairs next time.

7. Well, if you hop up on his back, you can whisper sweet nothings to him and he will
have to carry you around anyways.

5. Bummer, KW
You have my sympathy. I've had pneumonia several times (used to get it twice a year, whether I needed it or not :eyes: ) - it's no fun and can be serious. The first time I had it, I didn't take it seriously enough and ended up in the hospital for a week. Which is why I kept getting it after that.

Take care of yourself. Rest. And turn on the darn light when you go down the stairs!

11. This is like the 4th time in 3-1/2 years that I have had it.
Comes with the territory of my cancer survivorship. I survived the cancer but was left with compromised immunity.

I am alive, and that is the important thing.

6. Take care.
they put my mom on a really strong antibiotic for pneumonia too. Turns out a (not so common) side effect is severe pain and damage to the Achilles tendon. She had to go to physical therapy to be able to walk again. She was really, really in pain for quite some time. Levaquin was the name. Scared the crap out of us all.

Hope you feel better.

9. I think I was on Levaquin last time I had pneumonia.
Did not get the Achilles tendon side effect from it. But I have heard that can be really nasty.

I will feel better.

22. I am.
I took a two hour nap yesterday afternoon, after I picked my daughter up from school. I plan on taking a nap while she is in school today - since she has a play date in the park after school.

The overwhelming fatigue is the worst part of this thing. My house needs cleaning (seriously, because my husband was alone in the house for a week, and now I have been back for two weeks and I have been sick the whole time). But the house is not going to get the serious cleaning until I feel better.

My husband is going to mow the lawn tomorrow (we have a small lawn and our mower is a manual one - I can't do it until my lungs are better.)
