4. It's like a Nomad and an Impala welded together...
...I like it in a 50s nostalgia kinda way, and I'm no gearhead. It reminds me of Ford's retro-retooling of the T-bird and Mustang a few years back.

...in 1960. The 'Aztec Gold and Cream' paint scheme. I miss that car - and I was only 4 years old.

16. Yeah you're right
I said the front looked like a '55 ... but's more like a '57. But the back is a '59, no question about that.

We had a '59 Impala and years later my dad bought a '59 El Camino. The love fins on those.

I want this car!

36. yep, here's the scoop
Named for the three years represented in the overall design, the 789 has the "hooded eyes" and chrome grille bar of a '57 Bel Air, a mid-section and tri-toned interior that is reminiscent of a '58 Impala and the "bird in flight" rear tailfins of a '59. These three vehicles are all instantly recognizable classics celebrated by people around the world.

10. I dunno, it reminds me of Johnny Cash's car in "One piece at a time."
A mismatch of different styles, different eras, different fantasies.

Does America build anything new anymore? We can't create, we only reach back to the past and grab memories out of context.

Hmm, too serious for a car thread. :) Sorry. Cool car.

Along the lines of the last Thunderbird. People who did not have money/ or live in the 50's-70's can finally buy the cool cars that we've always wanted.
