I like paper bags with the plastic on the outside. We use them for trash bags and tie them up to seal them when we toss them down the trash shute.

Recyclable - plus it keep domestic wood and paper product workers employed.

Plastic is a petrochemical made from petroleum ... Yuck! But nothing's better for sealing off a stinky diaper from the world.

I reuse them as trash bags in the small cans all over the house.

On the occasion when I get paper bags, they go straight to the recycle bin.

13. I like to save paper bags and then use them for wrapping paper

i get crazy when wrapping presents and decorate with my own scenes and paste magazine cut outs one time i ade a present look like frylock!! reg wrapping paper is too boring i recycle and look cool for being orginal and cheap!!!!

15. Canvas and paper...

We use way the hell too many disposable bags in this country for no good reason. It's bad all the way around.

I use canvas bags for grocery shopping, ask for paper (which is mostly from recyled paper now and is itself recyclable) only when I need something to put my paper recycling in or garbage.

I save plastic for only the jobs that would be impossible otherwise.

And if I only have a few items and don't have my canvas with me, I take no bag and put them in my large purse. I always shock the cashiers when I decline a bag - it disgusts me when I see a single bottle of aspirin go into a plastic or paper bag. And I try to never use the plastic produce bags -- I just put the items in my basket (if it's just a few) or use a paper lunch bag otherwise.
