a butt? On "As the World Turns," it just got a little racy, especially for daytime TV.

For those who know anything about ATWT, Katie and Mike were in the shower, and the glass of the shower door was slightly hazy, but you could see his, well, his whole butt through the glass. And I am not talking about a side shot--I am talking butt like on Matcom's little stairclimbing smiley.

I think ATWT just made daytime history.

How risque has your soap ever gotten?

1. Not since I've been watching

I've been an on again and off again fam of All My Children, and while there has always been sex on it there has never been any nudity. Not that that's a bad thing.

I missed it (shit!), Bill Lewis showed his butt! I believe that may have been the first time in Daytime. I am glad I taped ATWT. I would LOVE to see Mike's butt. What a hottie.... :)

I'm trying to remember when I developed a thing for the female behind. I mean, breasts are obvious. I fixated on them the first time I glanced through one of my dad's Playboys when I was six or so. But the butt? Hmm. Must have been junior high sometime when all the girls started wearing designer jeans which defined a nice round bottom very well.

5. I'll bet they've been showing naked bodies on European and Asian soaps

since they started making them practically. I wonder why Americans are so rearguard when it comes to this stuff. Does the Puritan heritage really explain it? Why do the Puritans always get the upper hand in this country?

9. Not enough people take the Puritans into consideration

when thinking about the American animal. I think we're all the sons and daughters of them, even if we are the sons and daughters of immigrants. Look at what we consider offensive. Skin. We don't have a problem with seeing skin cut up by a chainsaw on television, but if that skin is sans blood, its a scandal. Bill Clinton almost got impeached because he had sex with a woman who wasn't his wife while president, but Reagan could have been impeached for far more serious crimes. Double standard? Oh, yesss, preciousss, yesss.

I embrace part of my Puritan heritage. I believe that things can get better and improve, but that in the end we are completely fucked. When people ask, I tell them it's just my Puritan optimism.

Soaps in Europe tend to be very "correct"; a naked breast and so on: yes, that might happen, but no naked bodies. I have yet to watch a whole Soap ("Seifenoper") episode, but I'd say the commercials show more than the soap itself.

19. Nope. I watch Days of Our Lives and Passions. No butt.

There is sex in those shows, but sometimes it seems like they show people praying more than they show them having sex (especially on Days). Passions pushes the envelope a lot in having a lot of weird stuff going on (e.g., witches, demons, people being sucked into hell, etc.), but no butts. Although there is a sleazy older couple who like to play sex games, dressed in costume, and one day they had a donkey with them. lol
