I live in fear of misspelling Public on appraisal reports...
I wonder how many times I have sent off a report stating that the subject property is located in the Detroit Pubic School System? And it's one of those that doesn't get caught by the spell check. I just caught it now on a printed, finished appraisal. I should do my work in the day time.:argh:

1. My worst typo. . .
occurred while I was setting type for a newspaper. In a feature article about an elderly woman, the line was supposed to read that she collected antique clocks. . .

3. If you are using Word
You can set it up so it will automatically change your naughty word to public. ;-)

4. I'll have to check and see if ACI, the program I use is linked to Word or
not. That would save me some embarassment. Thanks for tip.

5. I was about to post the same but...
apart from making the automatic spell check substitute "public" for "pubic" anytime it shows up in a document, you will , in the event you have *reason* to use "pubic" get a hilarious substitution in that source

On the other hand, if you seldom or never (like myself) find reason to type "pubic" this will be no problem at all...

8. try this
Yes, it would be funny if you corrected the spell check from 'pubic' to 'public' if you were the author of this document:

http://www.newarkhealthdept.org/health_topics/crabs.html

Well, they are kind-a 'public,' after all, since they go between members of the public. :silly:

9. Just think
how the textbook writers must feel! You screw up, some clerk at the Register of Deeds gets a larf. Textbook writers screw up, and a whole generation thinks their short n' curlies are public hair!
