okay, you know that annoying convention on your local station, where the announcer talks over the entire intro of a song, timing his monologue to end precisely when the song's vocals begin?
I have noticed a phenomenon of almost the exact reverse of that style, on Japanese radio programming: the DJ will play the intro to the song, and only begin talking once the song's vocals come in, regardless of whether the vocals are in Japanese or English, or whatever.
I thought it was just one Japanese announcer's style, but I've noticed it on previous Japanese broadcasts, and my suspicions have been confirmed at the co-op station at whhich I volunteer, which has a new Japanese mosaic show.
So, why am I posting this on DU? Because this is the Trivial Information Clearinghouse. I know somebody will have some insight into this seemingly illogical style. What's the deal?
