Real fans as in we still sellout the stadium when our team is 3-13, we still show up and scream and berate the opponents. When me and my crew went down to Carolina earlier this year there were well over 10,000 Eagles fans there. There were scalpers with handfuls of tickets practically giving them away for a game that would have clinched the division had the Panthers won. Half the people in Ericsson Stadium were wearing college shit and there were people decked out in the full attire of NFL teams that weren't even playing. They just let us come in and take over like a bunch of pirates. Those are NOT real fans. There is no history there, no passion. If the Panthers lose tomorrow no one is going to be mortally wounded, no one is going to be deeply depressed. It'll be "Oh well, put on the Duke game."
Typical of the stories of our fans, you only got half the story on Irvin. Michael Irvin was one of the most obnoxious, arrogant, self aggrandizing pieces of shit to ever play the game as I'm sure you know if you watched him. We hated his guts the way only Philly can. When he went down, fuck yeah we cheered because he's a mortal enemy. The stories never go on to say that when it became clear he wasn't getting up the crowd stopped cheering and when he was put on the stretcher was given a round of applause. If that was Emmett, Troy Boy, Moose or most anyone else on the team no one would have applauded the injury. If it was Dieon Sanders though it would have been a lot worse than Irvin got.
