Who else LOVES garlic?
I've been loving it so much I'm eating nearly a (raw) head per day. Does anyone else get the "body rush" effect from raw garlic and do you like to eat it while drinking a good, heavy and syrupy stout so that your burps taste (garlicky) great but are less filling?

OMFG I love garlic! I'm glad I grew 4 rows of it!

So, do you love garlic as much as I do?

Russian Purple hardneck, Spanish Roja, Red Softnecks...anything that has a little bite is good - the only problem is that my partner makes me sleep in the other room - and no, I'm not getting any anymore. :wtf:

this truly is a post for the saturday night lounge. :)

how the **** can you eat RAW GARLIC? I mean...you actually take solid bites of it???? I can't stand the forkful I get in the occasional pasta bowl at the restaraunt..It may add a little to the flavor of something when you dice it up and spread it out...but eating it by itself??

as I said earlier..

eww

6. I love garlic .....
But not as much as you do .... apparently .....

Nearly EVERY night goes like this ....

1) Select pot or pan
2) Shake in 2 - 6 TBSP of Extra Virgin Olive Oil ....
3) Add crushed or minced garlic .... at least two cloves ....
4) Add diced onion AND/OR celery AND/OR shallots AND/OR ????

The rest is up to you ...... meats, veggies, shroomies, even Tofu ....

DONT forget: .. JUST before meat is done ??? ...

REMOVE meat: .... add WINE to deglaze pan .... creating a wine based sauce ......

Scrape the FONDS from the pan bottom into the wine/saute mix .... Simmer a few minutes to reduce, then add meat back into pan ..... reduce more to further concentrate flavors ..... dont overcok meat .....

Mmmmmmmmmmm ... damn Im getting hungry .....

7. I pity anyone who has to be near you!
Don't get me wrong - I love garlic too. The garlic cheesebread at Buca is to die for. Shaved slices of garlic cloves cover the top of the bread...mmmmm....

But the odor, especially the day after chowing on a garlic feast, is just otherworldly.

Once I experimented on the health effects of garlic. I ate an entire garlic pizza when I came down with a cold. It didn't help my cold, but my poor wife sure suffered. :)

8. My girlfriend says she can smell it on me for a day or more
I smell like and old Ukranian. So I don't eat as much as I like.

Try some garlic powder on potato chips.

I heard that eating garlic is a way of combating athlete's foot or toenail fungi because of its natural antifungal compounds. Bon appetit'

9. I like garlic stalks
...cooked in olive oil and soy sauce with a little pepper and sugar. The shoots are much milder in taste than the cloves and delicious. I like the texture better than the clove. It is a great vegetable. Most Americans are unaware of how delicious the shoots are.

10. Health!
Garlic is great for your health. I do use it while cooking, but very lightly. I enjoy the taste. I take three oderless pills a day. I have found that the mosquitos will rarely bite me, and ticks will rarely set in. There is no proof that this is a valid repelant, but it seems to work for me.

11. Love garlic, but can't eat a lot raw
it's just too overpowering when it's raw. I do like to bake it though.

Cut off the top that will sprout so the clove bottoms show. Put it in a pan with some extra virgin olive oil drizzled over the top, sea salt and pepper.

Bake for about 45 mins and viola! garlic butter. Still tastes like garlic, but very mellow.

12. Maximum garlic here
Spray your food processor with pam. Add 4 sticks of real butter that has softened up and been quartered. Add 2 bulbs of garlic,(peeled and diced) and some fresh basil to taste. Make into a paste. This is superb for garlic bread or garlic mashed potatoes. A little bit goes a long way.
