Bought my oil-change stuff at WallyWorld yesterday
(Where is Marc Maron's Liberal Confessional when I really need it?)

I guess the subject header says it all. I had meant to go to a different auto parts store, but this was one of those "I gotta get this job done now" things, coming home from work, where I knew I'd be able to procure oil/filter/new drip pan for less than 20 bucks and I just decided to do it.

And I just finished doing the oil change, the first time I've done it myself in ages. I feel all good and manly about doing some car maintenance work myself instead of paying a mechanic to do it, but ashamed of being lazy and buying the stuff at Wal*Mart.

Maybe someone can grant me absolution?

2. No problem.
I'm UU. We don't have a Hell to burn in.

If I remember correctly, the short-hand difference between Unitarians and Universalists goes like this--Unitarians believe that man is too good to be condemned by God, and Universalists believe that God is too good to condemn man.

6. A little old-fashioned guilt is good for you
Absolution pretty much erases that guilt. I don't really think that's such a good thing. Feel the guilt and maybe next time, you'll remember it and say, "No, I can't justify it - I'm going to the auto parts store."
