Hi all - haven't post in the lounge for a while but thought you'd might have some advice.
I have a job interview for an Executive Director position of a small non-profit. It's small so the paycheck is small too. Smaller than what I have now. But the job would allow me to have supervisor experience to take me on further in future jobs and it seems as if all of my prior jobs in varying fields meld into this one.
Currently I do have a job and have been there almost 2 years - co-workers are mostly great - but feel from supervisors that I am always walking on eggs. Current job is about 45 minutes of driving in traffic to get to whereas this job would be about 1 1/2 mile away from my home.
What do you guys think?

if only for the experience. And the gas savings would help with the salary differential.

And sometimes just going on faith (not the religous sort but the ethereal sort) that things will work out somehow. It is a non-profit org. that was designed to support the homeless community in our town.
I'm seriously leaning towards making the leap.

The supervisor experience will really be q great addition to your CV. I say this as someone who's done alot of hiring.

Another plus - is that I would be better connected in the small community I am in - also I already know (just on a casual basis) 3 of the 10 Board members.
I'm also that 3 of the 10 board members are residents of the community. That show's great leadership and faith in the community on the part of the Board.
Again thanks for the advice.

The shorter commute and getting away from a situation where you feel uncomfortable would be well worth it. Hopefully, your debt is such that you can sustain a lower income for the piece of mind the change would probably give you.
