Question about Anti-wrinkle creams...

...Can anyone recommend one that works? I've got to do something about these expression lines I've developed over the past 15 years from looking at people with a puzzled look and asking, "What the F#&K are you talking about?"

1. Here is what I have discovered about anti-wrinkle creams:

There are many good ones, some expensive and some not. They all have a temporary effect (which I'm sure you already knew), so you have to keep using them. Olay Regenerist is excellent and not too hard on the wallet, and Lancome has a lot of good but expensive ones too. Best eye treatment I've ever used is Olay Regenerist Eye Derma-Pods; you use these three times a week, and the results are amazing. :D

I've tried just about everything on the market except for the REALLY expensive stuff. You can PM me if you want some more advice. :)

Edited to add: one with a sunscreen of at least 15 SPF is best for day use. :)

10. Consumer Reports did a test. Olay Regenerist was the winner.

It beat out much more expensive brands. But the caveat is, they tested the whole regime prescribed by the brand - so you need to buy 3-4 different products, Bobbi Brown says if you are over 40, most people can't "over" moisturize, so using multiple products might be the way to go.

3. Yes. Strivectin SD

It's a freaking miracle cream. Granted, I only have (well, had) very fine lines, but they're effectively gone now. I'd tried just about everything on the market, this is the only thing that gave me dramatic results.

8. Not long--two or three weeks, and I saw major results.

I LOVE the stuff. And if you compare it to the high-end department store products, it's not any more expensive than those (and is cheaper than some of them).

I use it twice a day, and at night use Clinique's Total Turnaround cream (it's got fruit acids that keeps skin in really good shape--clears away any buildup of dead skin cells, which also makes fine lines look worse).

Nowhere did I say that Strivectin will get rid of ALL wrinkles; the OP asked for advice specifically on wrinkle creams, that's what I gave him.

I'm just curious, because I've noticed this is a pattern with you: why the need to be so constantly snide to people?

It did not do anything but give me a very droopy right eyelid. I would never suggest anyone get it until they read about the risks. I had a bad doctor who convinced me I was "too young to look this old" and all that hogwash. Never again.

11. Mary Kay's Timewise line.

For specific lines and wrinkles, I use the Timewise Targeted Action Line Reducer. It temporarily "plumps up" the line/wrinkle, giving a softened look. With continued use, it actually starts to reduce the appearance of the line. I use it for my brow furrow, and even my husband noticed that - sans makeup - the furrow is much less noticeable than before. I have been using the Timewise line of products for two months. I have had more compliments on my skin and "youthful" appearance in these last two months than I have for ten years. I look younger now than I did at 37 (I am almost 41).

Mary Kay is coming out with or has just come out with a men's line.

I bought it for my mom for xmas and I've noticed a big improvement. It's $100 bucks for an ounce, so its not cheap. You can get it ebay for a lot less.

14. I know a doctor that swears by Retacnyl.

Around $35 for a good supply.
