1. My dear graywarrior!
That's what I bought to take on my trip!

I forget the exact model number, but I was/am very happy with how it held up!

Go for it!

:hi:

2. Isn't that the retail brand name that IBM uses?
I don't think they do IBM retail stuff any more. Their computers are Lenovo and Lexmark is all their printers. If so, it should be decent enough. Let's face it, they all buy their components from the same guy in Korea and they're assembled out in the Pacific rim somewhere.

4. Lenovo is a Chinese computer maker.

A few years ago they bought IBM's non-server PC division. They are still very good. If I was to buy a PC laptop it would be between them and Toshiba.

6. Consumer Reports liked them a lot...
Second only to Apple for frequency of repairs and tech support...

I took my Lenovo to Europe and it performed beautifully!

8. They all use the 802.11x protocol
It should make no difference. If you can find a open hotspot it will work.
