1. Why?
Is it affecting your ability to procure carbohydrates?

3. Becuase I'm sick and goddamned tired of hearing about it, that's why

I can't turn the fucking TV on without hearing low-carb this and low-carb that. Jesus H. Christ, enough already!

6. Mute button.
I can't stand to listen to commercials, as I mentioned in the McD's thread. Love the mute button.

2. I'd agree but only to the extent that I abhor fads.
Like many, I've been aware for years that reducing my carb intake is key to better health and losing weight. I don't need the insult of having it screamed at me from the boob tube, so I ignore the commercials & articles & stuff.

Now, where did I leave those chocolate-covered pretzels? . . .

8. Don't you mean "gouge"?
These low-carb schemes are expensive and laughable...

"health food" itself is more expensive, which is eyebrow-raising enough, but items with that stupid "A" on them re definitely pricey...

20. The "A" is for...
assholes who can't read the nutrition information on the back.

I've been low-carb for years now, since having blood-sugar problems. The "A" just means more money for the same shit I usually buy.

It's not that difficult to eat well. I miss rice, big bowls of pasta, rice and tapioca puddings, and a couple of other things, but it's just not that big a deal.

9. No, Night Train... see it is a good thing... cause the idiots who
go off the deep end with this stuff, they will start metabolysing their own muscle tissue, ruin their kidneys and die.
So, look at it as a moron population-control issue.

13. I do have to admit I am getting tired of seeing Atkins books lining
the shelves of the bestseller aisle in the bookstore. I know I am biased towards carbs (gotta have my pasta) but it's a bit ridiculous. It's like the massage book fad of the 70's. :hi:

I'm tired of people who act smug about eating pork rinds. Like it is some sort of health food. LIke the scene fomr Woody Allen' Sleeper, when in the future deep-fry and hot fudge are considered health foods.

15. "A billion Chinese can't be wrong."
Look at the Asian diet - carbs and more carbs. Yet the rates of heart disease & obesity are incredibly low.

Explain that one, Atkins experts!

19. unprocessed carbs
Not a lot of processed sugars. Lots of good healthy vegetables and fish.

And as their diet becomes more and more westernised, they're suffering the same problems we do.

They don't just eat rice and noodles, you know.

Why does everything have to be extreme with people?

16. LOL!
I hear ya, Dean! So does that mean we can have all kinds of fatty, gooey, rich foods at the hotel when we meet in PA in March???

BTW, I just got your email, and everything looks great to me, especially the price of the room. I wish it were the end of March already!:loveya:

18. I'm with you, Night . . . I LOVE my carbs . . .
especially fresh-baked breads . . . we have a great bakery nearby that's one of my absolutely favorite places to shop . . . and I don't think I want to go through life without pasta . . .

21. I can't give up my carbs
Today I actually saw Russel Stover's Candies advertising their low carb version. Everyone is jumping on the bandwagon.

Heh. Spellcheck hasn't jumped on it yet. It wanted to change 'carb' to 'crab'.
