Do you have them programmed to go off at the the same time and/or days of the week?
One of my pet peeves is seeing a sprinkler system watering a lawn during a rain.
I have mine programmed to water each zone for thirty minutes in order, but not on any fixed schedule.
I come home, look at the yard and if it needs water I walk over to the box ib the garage and push a single button. Two hours later my watering is done.
If I leave for a week, I might set it up for scheduled watering, but not when I'm home.
And my lawn is the greenest on the block. I think over watering is just as harmful to the health of a lawn as under watering. So I just do it when I think it needs it.
And I don't even have a water meter. One flat rate for the entire year. But why waste it when you don't need to?
