I prefer being told directly what to do in many cases
As I stated in the other thread, people at work get yelled at and sometimes personally insulted if they do the wrong thing. In that case, I prefer that I be told what to do rather than face that wrath.
In other situations, my step mother, mother-in-law, and to some extent my husband, all use indirect communication to tell people what to do. This has caused me problems with them because if I don't somehow guess what they mean and its importance, they throw a fit later. If something was that important to them, they should have directly told me. Strangely, I can useally tell what other people mean when I am a third party, but not when I am the person being told indirectly what to do.

1. I also prefer clarity.
I don't appreciate people wasting my time at work, so I don't extend my agreement to coworkers who attempt to micromanage others. However, I do appreciate clarity about expectations and then space to satisfy them.
