34. When I was a kid, we used to have Christmas dinner with some cousins....
It was the young'uns duty to fix hors d'oeuvres for our parents, always anchovies on Ritz Crackers. Gave me a horror of the things for life.

8. Capers
A caper (Capparis spinosa L.) is a biennial spiny shrub that bears rounded, fleshy leaves and big white to pinkish-white flowers. A caper is also the pickled bud of this plant. The bush is native to the Mediterranean region, growing wild on walls or in rocky coastal areas throughout. The plant is best known for the edible bud and fruit which are usually consumed pickled.

In addition to pickled nasturtium buds, capers are also the berry of the caper plant grown in the Mediterranean area.

Cured in brine. Used in lots of Greek, Italian, Spanish cooking as well as other dishes.

30. Uncle Bob's Special Chicken

Cut up a Chicken, dip in breadcrumb/flour mixture and fry in olive oil. Only a few minutes, just to brown. Deglaze pan with wine.

Add: Beef stock, capers, marinated artichoke hearts, olives (green or black to taste), diced tomato, chopped onion, minced garlic. Salt and Pepper as desired

Simmer for about an hour or until done.

Serve over Angel Hair pasta.
