There's an invest off of the west coast of Africa...
near the Cape Verdes. Hurricane Hunters haven't been out to it yet. From what I've read on some forums, it's got some pretty strong convection and it's already tropical depression strength, but the circulation hasn't closed yet.

It'll be one to watch for a couple of days, though.

1. Speaking of hurricanes....
has anyone heard from merh lately?

I really need to give that woman a call.

Now I'll abstain from talking to myself.

2. Thanks for the heads up.
Where do you go on the web to watch the latest on these?

I tend to go to Dr. Jeff Master's blog:

3. Hey, Lex.
I go to Jeff Masters' blog, and numerous other places. Let me see if I can find my hurricane links document, and I'll post it here.

5. Thanks.
We have some family property on the coast of NC at Topsail Island, so we are always watching. Plus, practically my whole family is just in the interior of NC (about an hour or so from the coast) so, again, we are always watching.

Thanks for any links you have.

4. My list of links.
Edited on Sun Jun-10-07 12:00 AM by Maddy McCall
This is the list of links that I visit whenever the Gulf Coast is being threatened by a hurricane. Also some general links about hurricane predictions and strike probabilities.

HURRICANE LINKS

Forcast of seasonal activity and strike probability for the 2007 season:

Good all-around sites for when a storm is brewing, ranked according to my faves. I like these because they give you up-to-date info that’s easy to digest, and they also give you links to more complex stuff, like models:

7. If you want to PM me your email...
I'll email the Word document with all the links. Then you can just keep it on your desktop.

Glad I can provide the list. I'm a hurricane nerd in the summers...just can't help myself. :)
