Fast Food Nation
I watched Fast Food Nation tonight. The movie absolutely makes me glad to be a vegetarian, and I suggest that unless you'd like to become one also you do not see this film. I did not expect it to be as graphic as it was. The movie is definitely not for those with a weak stomach. I did however enjoy the film and do suggest it. It's a sad look at what a lot of us all ready know about this industry(and many industries). It leaves you angry, shocked, and disgusted with much of corporate America and lies they feed us - literally. The tag line to the movie says it all: "Do you want lies with that?"

Fast Food Nation is a fictionalized film loosely based on the non-fiction book Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser. The movie uses a fictionalized approach instead of being a documentary, telling the story from the point of view of people involved in the industry. The ensemble cast includes Greg Kinnear, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Ethan Hawke, Luis Guzman, Patricia Arquette, Kris Kristofferson, Lou Taylor Pucci, Ana Claudia Talancon, Esai Morales, Paul Dano, Wilmer Valderrama, Bruce Willis, and Avril Lavigne.

1. I read
Eric Schlosser's book several years ago and have not patronized a fast food joint since.

2. Shades of Upton Sinclair and "The Jungle"
We read that in high school and it's memory lingers on.

5. the movie is good
not for those with a weak stomache. i'm glad they didn't just focus on the meat itself but also on the poor treatment of the workers who work within the factories. because of some of my stepdad's cases i know all too well that big corporations try to find whatever possible way of keeping those injured on the job(as a result of the job) from getting any type of compensation.
