11. The difference is
excessive drinking, carousing, etc., and just plain being a bastard (Ty Cobb, Ted Williams), have never been against baseball's rules. Gambling has been for all but the earliest days.

That said, I agree with you. Nothing Rose did erases the fact that he got more hits than anyone who ever played the game.

Hell, make it clear in his shrine that he was a bad boy. But get him the hell in there.

The first thing any baseball player sees when they walk into the clubhouse is a big poster that says thall shall not gamble on baseball and what the conseguences will be if caught doing so.
He knew the consequences that would occur if he were caught long before he placed his first bet.
