What are your favorite radio shows/programs?
Even if you listen on the internet, you can list it if it comes from a radio program. List up to 5.

Mine:

The Mike Malloy show on Nova M
Coast To Coast AM (my big guilty pleasure)
Many of the programs on sports radio WIP (Rob Charry is my favorite)

1. My favorite used to be "Thistle and Shamrock" on PBS
I am not in the car that much, which is my only radio time, but there is a local radio station here that does a bluegrass program on tuesdays that is awesome. :hi:

4. you know, I don't
I can't even remember the name of the station, they had some seriously scary talk radio on there (it was independently owned I think, pro-life stuff and the like) but that bluegrass show was very nice. :hi:

6. I love Thistle and Shamrock.
WAMU has a great bluegrass show on Sunday mornings, although if you don't like spirituals you might not like it. It's called "Stained Glass Bluegrass."
NPR's "This American Life" and "Wait! Wait! Don't Tell Me" are important for liberals to listen to because they take advantage of left-wing sense of humor for the news.
Also, I love the Al Franken Show, especially the Oy! Oy! Oy! show.

5. Bernie Ward's weeknight program and his Sunday special production "GodTalk"
My clan have been members of 'The Church of the Holy Donut' for over twenty-two years with Brother Bernie at the helm. We discuss politics, ethics, religion, morals, and consume donuts and coffee, all in the comfort of bed with my squeeze, love; my wife. The dog and my son join us towards the end of the program and I become very happy. (Sunday 6-9am pst)

We really have only one stedfast rule: no quoting scripture. Everyone has to paraphrase scripture in their own words; an impossible task for the occasional Fundy that drifts in.

I invite all people to join us in their own bed for a grand beginning to a wonderful Sunday. You will not be disappointed.

I get so engrossed that I end up walking farther than I planned. A good thing.

I work for an NPR affiliate and just hosted them in a live show three weeks ago. We had a blast.

Edited on Tue Jun-12-07 02:12 PM by LSK
I try and listen to her everyday.

I catch Thom Hartmann and Stephanie Miller from time to time.

I will tune in Malloy once in a while.

I stream them all from the Nova M Radio website.

I used to listen to Franken pretty regularly and the Majority Report sometimes.

I don't know why. Maybe because I do a lot of writing/editing and their talking distracts me too much.

34. Almost everything on WWOZ, New Orleans
http://www.wwoz.org

If ever there were a reason to "Save Net Radio", this is it. It's community radio from a community where nearly everyone is music-obsessed, many with extensive record collections that they play on-air.

Many New Orleanians don't even bother tuning their radios. They just keep it on 'OZ, all the time.

37. Most of mine come from the DC area
I listen to www.wpfw.org on my computer now that I live in Virginia. I always try to listen to the following:

Democracy Now! with Amy Goodman M-F 8:00-9:00 am
The Spirit of Jazz with Lona Alias Sundays 6:00-9:00am
Jazz and More with Donnie McKethan Thursdays 7:00-9:00 pm
Randi Rhodes from Air America
Thom Hartmann from Air America

I don't listen as much as I used to but plan to catch up over the summer. If anyone lives in the DC area and they have not listened to WPFW-FM, you need to check it out. It has the best music and public affairs programming I have ever heard!
