Urggh...I hate "night-time" allergy/cold medications
I took only one tablet of an over-the-counter "night-time" sinus headache/allergy/cold medication last night, and today I feel groggy, irritable, impatient, and "out of it". Not only does that stuff affect you physically, it affects you psychologically, as well. Nasty stuff.

Besides allergy/cold medications -- both day and night-time -- what's a good alternative for treatment of sinus headaches?

1. I prefer the "dynamite-up-the-nose" method.
I take Sine-Off and try to stay awake. I often wonder if drinking coffee counteracts the effects.

2. Believe it or not, but I've been experimenting with a hot pepper nasal spray
Found it at a health food store. It's called "Sinus Buster". Unfortunately, it hasn't done the trick.

3. I hear saline nose spray is good for sinus issues
but then again - my grandfather just used to snort salt water and it would alleviate all his problems. Me - I don't think I could purposely "snort" water....

4. the only stuff we ever use is Dimetapp
It works on the congestion, and it's side effect free as far as we are concerned. The blue 12-hour extentabs are what we get. Take it at night.

5. I used to have sinus problems frequently and saline spray has helped immensely!
I was taking some type of sinus medicine 3 or 4 times a week to deal with sinus headaches. Since I have been using saline spray, I have pretty much STOPPED using medication. I use it twice a day and I only use pills once a month at the most. I strongly suggest that you give it a try. It's about $2 a bottle for the cheap store brand, which works fine. If you absolutely have to take something at night, I suggest Unisom sleep gels. The medicine in them is exactly equal to a double shot of Benadryl and I have never felt groggy the next day.
