*Unsigned* - Do you have a favorite unsigned band???
It doesn't take much to get signed to an "indie" label these days and many bands/producers are just starting there own.
Major label deals are few and far between, unless you are a top 3 American Idol finisher....<cringe>

Do you have a favorite unsigned band that you would like to share???

XM, *Unsigned* channel is a great place to listen and find new artists
Myspace Music - Top Artists - Unsigned column is also a place to find great new acts!

Let me know!

1. The World's Greatest Urban Appalachian Soul Music Duo

http://myspace.com/drexelohio">drexel

even though I must admidt that that particular submission is completely self-serving, and that this post reeks of spam for some "sell your music on our web site and make millions and get famous and soon you will be drinking champagne out of Britney Spear's smelly old cooter," or something to that effect.

5. we hail from funktown dontcha' know?
Edited on Thu Jun-14-07 12:35 PM by bedpanartist
Dayton, Ohio. Home of the Ohio Players, Slave, Lakeside, Roger Troutman (R.I.P), Shirley Murdock, Red Allen, Frank Wakefield, Bob Pollard, Brainiac, and so many others from this city that gave birth to the funk.

Actually, I believe Southwest, Ohio gave birth to the funk. It's a cultural coagulation of Appalachians and poor Southern Blacks and made this region what it is today culturally, and that sure as hell is one thing: funky.

17. I'd liken them more to bands like The Jesus Lizard or maybe Fugazi a little.

Definitely more a product of punk, noise and post-punk than anything. Though Tera-Tac-Toe does have a little metal flavour.

Their shows are always fun as hell though.

jar and true and false are very "hypnotizing" like you said in your bio!

There are 2 guitars on the songs. David Romanelli is the lead. He's amazing. I'm way out of practice by this point. It's hard to have a career, be a mom, and keep up with an instrument. I can barely keep up with the laundry!

I'm so glad you listened though. I'm proud of what we did. It's kind of sad that few people will ever hear it.

EDIT: typo

10. I made this "band" page
on myspace:

http://www.myspace.com/thethunderperfectmindband

I refuse to sign any contract for any kind of money, however. I will negotiate for compensation in the form of goats, large quantities of marijuana, food, and housing. And I insist on full creative control. So far, no labels have been willing to talk to me, for some reason.

I'm pretty proud of my "top friends" list, anyway.

18. Indie Nation on Radio Enigma
Edited on Thu Jun-14-07 02:08 PM by enigmatic
I know, I know, I'm pimping myself here:D

On our station we have a show called Indie Nation that airs from 9pm-1am Wednesdays and 5-8pm on Sundays in North America that exclusively plays indie and unsigned artists, including some DUers. Here's this week's playlist:

http://www.radioenigma.com/shows.html

And if there are any DUers who are interested in getting played on the show (as well as my own overnight show), email me on the contact link on our front page:
