3 of us are moving across country, on the road for 3 days now and I'm really tired. Tonight the motel is kinda crummy and in a sketchy area because it's hard to find places that will take the amount of pets we have with us. And I am separated from the rest of the group, with the animals in my room tonight since it was the only "pet" room this place had left.
Right under me are 3 unemployed guys from my state who have been drinking and throwing chicken bones into the parking lot since I got here a few hours ago. One of them has taken a shine to me. I was trying to be nice because I left a lot of things in my car that have a lot of sentimental value to me, and I didn't want them to mess with it and I figured if I got on their good side, they wouldn't AND they'd watch it for me.
But it is out of hand. Every time I go outside - to let the dogs pee or get something from the car or whatever - one of them wants to come with me. He asked if I was married and gave me a HUG, asks lots of questions, etc. He followed me to get a drink from the machine and tried to get me to go into his room. The dogs were cramped in the car for about 10 hours today and I didn't take them for a walk tonight because I knew I'd get unwanted company. Then when I said I was going to sleep, about 1/2 an hour later he CALLED my room to see if I wanted to come back out.
I know he's probably harmless but I'm feeling like a prisoner in the room and am nervous about my car. I can't watch TV or look out the window because then he'd know I'm awake. I'm glad I have the dogs in the room with me. All I want is a good night's sleep and instead I get this.
