Travel regs question
I'll be flying, for the first time in a few years, on Thursday. I've been squirreling away the things I'll need for the trip--especially putting lip balm, hand lotion, etc in a clear plastic "zip" bag for my carry-on. I just realized that the sunscreen lotion I'd really like to keep with me is in a 4 fl. oz. bottle--rather than the regulation 3 oz. It does say it's 100 ml, which some sites say is also allowable, though I expect the tSA types will look at the English measurement, not the metric.

So, do you really think they'll take this away? Should I try it, or should I carry a sunscreen in a smaller bottle? It seems so silly to be concerned about ONE FLUID OUNCE, but I don't want to just give the stuff away, either.

So, what do ya think?

1. We flew for the first time
since all this started over Christmas. We put everything liquid in our checked baggage just to save ourselves the hassle. Just ain't worth messing with. We had no problems.

3. you should put it in your checked luggage
3 or 4 ounces of sunscreen is not enough either way, but 3 ounces is legal, 4 ounces is technically over the line, they have never taken anything of mine that is not in the "baggie" but i've seen them take other people's stuff

check it and don't worry about it or buy your sunscreen at your destination

there is no way to pack sufficient suncreen in carry-on to comply w. the law AND not get sunburned unless you wear a burqa
