Teacher With an X-rated Secret "Porn Teacher" fired (PIC)
Source: Inside Edition

With a passion for teaching, and looking scholarly in a blue button down shirt with dark rimmed glasses, you'd be hard pressed to imagine Tericka Dye in any naughty scene.

But this demurely dressed teacher is also the star of several X-rated films.

She went by the name Rikki Andersin, and before becoming an educator, she shot a half dozen sex scenes that have been used over and over again in several porn movies.

She says she shot those movies a decade ago when she was a divorced, alcoholic, homeless mother of 2 young boys, desperate for cash. She thought of it as a dark chapter in her life, never to be reopened.

"I didn't go by my real name," Tericka said. "I don't look exactly the same. I thought maybe that door was closed."

But then, and she's not quite sure how, students at Tericka's school near Paducah, Kentucky stumbled upon her porn past. Word spread and Tericka, a 2nd year teacher, was fired. Many students and parents rallied to her defense. Others, like Michael Wood, support her ouster.

"I don't think she can be effective in the class room with this type of knowledge so present with our students and our community," Wood said.

Tericka argues that she has turned her life around by going into therapy and giving up drinking. She got her bachelors degree in teaching before moving on to become a well-respected teacher.

Tericka invites any of her critics to look at her evaluations and her students before making a judgment.

"I didn't do anything wrong," she said. "I didn't do anything criminal as a teacher. What I did was a decade ago and yes, it was immoral, but I'm not that person anymore."

At first the teacher fought to get her job back, but in the end decided to accept a job at a school in a different state.

1. quit porn, joined the Army, used new GI Bill to get education degree
Anderson joined the Army after leaving porn. She used the GI Bill to attend college and graduated at the top of her class. She appeared on the Decemer 6, 2006 "Dr. Phil" show where she explained that she had worked at "Reidland High School" in Paducah, Kentucky. Anderson, whose real name is Tericka Dye, was a science teacher and volleyball coach at the High School until 2006 when school officials learned of her pornographic past. According to "ynot.com", "Dye was suspended from work, banned from school property, her contract not renewed once it expired, and she was never given a public hearing because she was paid through the end of her contract." Dye claimed that she would be a good example to students since she had "risen above a troubled childhood with an alcoholic father" and turned her life around dispite having bipolar disorder.

3. "Paducah": the sound dogshit makes when it is thrown at a wall.
We claim to judge people on who they are now, not on their past. HELLO? Guess not in Kentucky.

7. I figured. I just wish some folks would let others recover from their mistakes.
This woman hurt no one but herself, and recovered well.

And you're right. Certain states have no monopoly on behaving like that. Waste of a useful individual just pisses me off. A LOT.

6. IMO, she is proof of what someone can do
if they try hard enough.

She had a rough past. She worked hard to get over her past and became something.

Besides, I don't think it's all that horrible that she was in porn. So fucking what! She made a few dollars-hopefully enough for a meal and a clean bed at the time for her and her kids.

9. I caught this story at the gym yesterday
and thought "Oh that is a lounge thread if I have ever heard one"

Now I see that she really did a lot to get to where she is. She should be very proud of herself.

10. Instead she's being treated like shit.
So she filmed a few scenes? How many of those parents bitching right now are so damn innocent? I'd bet at least a few were very indiscriminate in their behavior in their youth. The difference is that they did it because they were young while she did it out of desperation.

Hypocrites make me nauseous.

16. Exactly.
Jezzus she kept herself off welfare for Christ's sake. She did what had to be done at the time to survive.

13. Mistake: Not running for president as a Republican.
She'd have been forgiven all if she'd just made a different career choice.

15. And yet no one questions the character
of those who discovered she had a porn career.

Not that I think there's anything wrong with watching porn - but surely the same yardstick could be used here, if they're going to fire her...

17. She appeared on Dr.Phil's show
it says so in the first article or in the wiki link (post1). I was thinking the same thing but then I read that.

Of course none of this was hardly reported on in Inside Edition it was mostly the PORN TEACHER aspect and the protests of her firing.

If ever there was someone who could warn the kids about the worst of the worst situations and how to avoid them AND show how anything is possible, she would be it. No sorry can't tell that story OOOOH Lindsey Lohan!!!! (crowd rushes across the street)

18. it was the kids.
as it usually is in these types of things. seems like there is a law that says kids
under 18 are not allowed to consume that type of stuff. Back when I was a kid I'd have
gotten a slap on the head and been told to STFU about it. I'm sad for this woman because,
as a teacher myself, I know how tenuous our grasp on our own careers is. Jeez, I mean
now you can get fired for something you did ten years (something that wasn't child molestation)before you started work. She should be able to get her job back.

19. I think, in some states
she does have legal recourse - as long as her evaluations are sound, and she's not in her first three years teaching in the district...

That is the law in Arkansas anyway.

20. This woman should be commended
She served her country and turned her life around, all the time caring for her 2 children. What she did was not illegal. There are a hundred worse things she could have done to get money to feed her children. Would her detractors prefer that she had gone on welfare? Surrender her children to the state? Sell herself on the street and not have any videotape evidence of the same?

Once was the time that good Christians held up people who had changed their lives as the ultimate example of what hard work and a little faith could do. Now they seem to take joy in digging up the one mistake in someone's past and using it to ruin them. Sick.
