ebay question

My mom and I want to sell a Victorian Dollhouse, hand made by us, fully electrified and furnished....what should we expect to get for it....don't have a pic handy, sorry

1. best thing to do

is look around ebay for similar items and see what they are selling for. add them to your watch list, so you can see the final sale price when the auction is over.

2. That's going to be a bitch to ship.

Make sure you charge enough for shipping on it. How big is it? Seems like it would be very very fragile.

Also, make sure that you require insurance on shipment.

3. another suggestion

you need to check out what similar items sold for on ebay and see if you'd get anything like a worthwhile selling price -- i wouldn't expect much on ebay but who knows, do the search, only you know what an equivalent item looks like

also if it is not really practical to ship you might want to consider listing it with photos on craigslist instead, maybe sell for a little less but to a local who will pay cash and pick up so there is no shipping or payment transfers/fees involved

5. Some suggestions

1) Research similar on eBay, as others above me have said.

2) Go to your local post office & get an estimate for the shipping cost, plus any sort of insurance & delivery confirmation. Make sure you say that insurance is required in your auction if the item is fragile.

3) Look at other auctions and see how they handle payments, shipping & contact. Most will say something like, "Buyer must contact me within X days after the auction close to arragne payment. Payment must be received in X+7 days or negative feedback will be left and item will be re-listed." X is usually 2 or 3 days, meaning payment must be received by you within 9-10 days. The buyer usually pays shipping & insurance, but not always.
