Show your garden
I was going to wait for a photo thread, but I'm impatient. Here is my garden this morning. Show me yours.

I have wilty cucumber bush plants on the lower right corner. I had to transplant them from under the growing zucchini plants in the back. They aren't happy in their new digs...I may need to go buy some plants from the nursery. Oh well, it's a learning experience.

and young snap peas

Is that a large collection of lettuce?

I found something I hadn't expected to find in my garden today

A sunflower stalk with more than one blossom

As I looked more closely, I found new ones starting at each 'elbow'

I can't wait until they open and show their purty colors.

I'm attempting sunflowers for the first time. Actually they had sprouted from birdseed from my feeder. I transplated a few into my garden. I have no idea if it will work or not, but they sure are growing.

:)

eta: yes that is a mixture of lettuce. I can't keep up! I've eaten salad almost everyday. :D

I think it is a lovely idea. I haven't been able to get the birds to use the birdbath I have. I wish I had one with a pump.

That really looks serene.

35. I think..
I think it's easy to grow as long as you're giving it attention, and this year I've watered the heck out of everything so everything's growing like crazy, the little vegetable bed almost seems too small, I swear tomatoes are popping up all over it that I didn't even plant. I don't know what I did different this year :o The eggplants are making little eggplants, I'm so proud even though all I've done is water them.

28. Beautiful, BNL

Clematis vine a week ago

Pond

I haven't shot any pic's of our vegetable garden -- it's way out back, and I always forget to bring my camera.
I am a completely manic garden fanatic. I have weeded and hoed all weekend, while Mr Gen is recovering on the deck.
Your peas look awesome -- great photograph with the light shining through the pods. :hi:

32. How beautiful!
I think I have that same clematis on my light pole. I thought I had killed in early spring so cut back all the dead vines right down to the ground, but new shoots totally took off and now it's as big as it ever was! It is just budding now.

Thanks :hi:

I like your rock borders, everything inside looks great too!

And I really really like the pond pictures DUer's have posted, that's what I'm doing the next couple months- planning/digging my pond, I mostly want to keep enough water in my yard to attract some frogs, a friend's gonna give me some tabpoles next Spring.

37. We have a frog!
He has the strangest croak. It's really loud, and when I first heard it I thought it was raccoons living under our deck. We shot this picture of him in our flower box on our deck.

Last week there was a violent T-storm so we brought our houseplants in for safe keeping. Heard the loud croaking noise after moving the plant in. Told Mr Gen that the raccoons were now under my computer room. He found the frog after a closer inspection of the plant.

The water element brings all kinds of interesting visitors. We have a couple of Bullfrog tadpoles living in our pond now. They are slowly losing their tales and turning into a frog right before our eyes.

38. I intended to take pictures today, but....
ran out of time and energy. Was trying to get a bunch of compost down as mulch since everything is wilting in the heat we're having. Only got about half done and pooped out and had a bunch of beer to compensate for the heat. :-)

How come you can only get about a third of the things done in a day that you think you can?

Anyway, I'll try to get pictures this week and post.

But they're back and forth all the time.

I'd say yes, they're as smart as reputed to be.

Happily, Sirius is also very laid back and social. :-)
