Attention Realtors: Two people can look at an open house if they're not a couple
I just got back from a long bike ride with my cycling buddy. We drove her car to the edge of town and did 44 miles on rural roads. She's buying a house and dragged me along with her just because we were in the area during Sunday afternoon open houses.

I guess it's understandable but I was amused at some of the comments we heard. A realtor noticed our sweat and the bikes and said: "Somebody deserves a massage when they get home." I like this person but have no desire to give or get a massage from her.

Realtors, you're on notice.

1. I guess I should have asked a question so that people would fill this thread with responses
Ok, what's your favorite dumb Realtor experience?

2. This particular one was flipping a repo
He was in the store complaining about how the previous owners just shoved steel wool into holes and covered it over with putty, pieced together pipes instead of replacing them, all these half-ass techniques people use to try to hide a problem.

In his cart: a whole case of steel wool and the biggest can of Durham's Rock Hard Water Putty they make.

4. One of the first rules of any kind of customer service
Never make assumptions. Sooner or later, you will be made to look like an asshole on account of it. We have a guy in the store who was always making comments about people's groceries - "Oh, looks like you're having a cookout!" when they bought hot dogs and paper plates or "Flowers for your wife, eh?" when a guy came through with a dozen roses.

One day, a customer came through his line with a whole bunch of deli trays - sandwiches, chicken wings, etc. He lit right up - "Wow, looks like a fun party! What's the occasion?"

The woman said, "My husband's funeral."
