I am SO tired.
I've been sleeping 16-18 hours a day for the last week, except for I think Thursday it was, when I had a normal day and night.

Got up at 3 this afternoon because we had the neighbors over, asleep again at 7, up now just for a bit to make sure the Little Guy goes to bed.

Mrs R is freaking out, here. I wish I didn't make her worry so.

But don't, please, tell me to go to a doctor, because 1) I'm not seeking medical advice here in violation of the DU rules, and 2) We're changing health-insurance coverage as of July 1 and I'm not about to fight the "pre-existing condition" fight with Blue Cross.

Just thought I'd be polite and let you all know why I haven't been around.

I gotta go.

2. Redstone...
have been going through the same thing past two days...

sometimes it doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong...everything may just be catching up with you and your body is telling you to recharge.

Give it a day or so...it might turn around for you.

Be well.

4. But damn, bro, you know how doctors are, don't you? They always want to find
Edited on Sun Jun-24-07 09:25 PM by Redstone
something wrong with you; always something that requires long and unpleasant treatment, or scalpels, or both.

But my older son, who is even taller than I am, just came out onto the porch and pretty much ordered me to make that appointment because he's tired of seeing Mrs R worry. I'll make the call.

But I do really have to go now.

7. Yeah, but you don't HAVE to listen to them
See the doc, get a second, third, fourth opinion. Make the last opinion your own. That's how I roll.

10. As someone who fears the insurance company
the way others fear going to the doctor...
consider going to a doc and putting the appt. on your credit card or writing a check.

I am very straigntforward w/ my docs on this: anything that could affect my future ability to get coverage (I'm self employed) I'll pay for myself or I'll wait until the dust clears in my life (regrettably, husband's habit of changing jobs frequently, quitting jobs abruptly, etc. makes things ever-exciting here). They have always been sympathetic but get it and have worked with me.

July 1 actually is not so far away. Go to the doc ASAP, tell him your concern (all docs hate the insurance companies with a burning passion; he'll totally get it) and see what's going on. If it's a matter of needed some drugs, pay for them yourself. If it's a matter of possibly that requires costly testing, wait until July 1.

14. meh, i look for ones that don't want to cut
although i just went to one that said we could cut, he was actually more into, let's wait until this gets worse, so i'm doing other things that while aren't so much fun, they may be helping a bit.

i am not comparing my circumstances to yours, just saying that finding a good doc is helpful.

5. Could you go to a clinic a few towns away and tell them you don't have insurance?
They would make you pay but I doubt your insurance would find out about the visit.

8. Mosquito bites prior to all that?
Hey, Redstone, try my quick fix for the droopies: Horseradish. Somehow, when I am REALLY rundown, that helps. Couldn't hurt.

Have been concerned about your absences of late. Glad ya checked in.

Horseradish. Might help.

20. No skeeters. I've had malaria, and this isn't it, though I've had some spectacular chills. Maybe
I'll see if I can keep some horseradish down. All I had yesterday was a nectarine, and even that left me after half an hour.

Quinine is my friend, AND it is a mild muscle relaxant, especially when you add vodka ;)

Get better, big guy. The kids will get outta hand around here if you are away too long.

so I searched on your name and found this. I am sure you know how many people are here for you. Best wishes. m.

PS--Once our bodies finally relax after a prolonged stressful period, we collapse so we can physically and mentally recover. Could that be it?

22. If you could bottle those instincts and sell them you'd be rich. Great to hear from you;
Mrs R hauled me to the clinic today, they got blood, they got X-rays, nobody knows anything yet, I was careful not to mention those two letters (MS), let them find out for themselves if that's what this is, because pre-existing going back to 1978 would leave me pretty much scrweed in the "pre-existing" department, wouldn't it.

Sorry for any typing errors because I'm going back to sleep now. But nice to hear from you, angel.
