1. I like the Banana Boat Maximum Sunblock SPF 50
white tube w/ pink top. It spreads easily and soaks in quickly...

2. how high of an SPF are you looking for?
the Coppertone Sport Spray 30 is what I use and I don't feel like it is a particularly greasy sunscreen

3. This is the stuff right here

It's a spray on, so it's easy to apply. It's not greasy at all. I've used this stuff all over the world, in the worst sun, and never even got pink. All day on boats in the caribbean, scuba diving - apply once in the mornng, once after lunch. A week on the Barrier Reef - not a spot on me, thanks to Coppertone Sport.

I'm the whitest guy in the world - I burn like a motherfucker just READING about being in the sun. But this stuff has changed my life.

11. I used the SPF 50 version yesterday on my first visit to a local waterpark
I'm not pasty-white, but do burn easily. This is my new favorite

4. Neutragena Ultra Sheer 45--it's also the best consumer tested sunscreen.
Totally non-greasy, and one of the few that blocks both UVA and UVB rays. I switched to it this year, and really like it.

5. It's expensive
but it's field tested and biologist approved! :D

I've tried them all, and Neutrogena WILL NOT run into your eyes when you are walking transects in 95 degree weather and cause you literally BLINDING pain.

It's so good, when I left my tube in the work truck all my colleagues used it and when I went back to get it it was gone. :o

7. Yeah but does it work when it gets hot out?
95 degrees is cool. Practically need a sweater around here on days like that. Actually, I like Neutrogena too. It has that Helioplex stuff in it that's supposed to be really good.

9. That's what mine is.
I like the cream in the tube as opposed to the spray on. I don't think the spray protects as well.

18. Yep. It's very sheer/dry. And they have a spray-on SPF 45

I use Neutrogena SPF 70 cream on my face and Neutrogena SPF 45 spray on my arms and neck.

It's not cheap, but I will actually use it unlike the greasy stuff. And alot of the cheap stuff doesn't protect against both UVA and UVB rays.

20. That's exactly what I do.
I think the cream is better so I use it on my face. Then I spray the spray into my hands and wipe it on my arms and legs. I think it's too expensive to just spray on when half of it winds up on the floor.

10. How expensive is it? It has to be so lightweight that my kids don't
care that it is on. If they can feel it, they'll run and rub/wash it off.

We especially hate it when our bangs stick to our foreheads because of it.

13. Do what I do
with Dropkid. No sunblock, no playing outside. Period. Been doing this since she was a baby, and now, even though she hates the delay (all 30 seconds of it:eyes:) she knows I mean business.

I don't notice the neutrogena making our skin sticky, etc. Dropkid had a ton of hair and, except for the sweat like a man thing she does, her hair doesn't stick to her face/shoulders/arms, etc.

12. My new favorite
I use the 70 on me and Dropkid. The nice thing about the helioplex in that it needs to be re-applied every 4 hours instead of 2. My pale-ass burn-loving skin hasn't burned once this year (well, I went out for 15 minutes at 9 am a couple weeks ago and burnt my nose, but no ss was on board). Also, it doesn't make me itchy like many sunscreens.

19. Here's the report which generated headlines just a few days ago...
...it includes a number of top-selling brands that were rated as ones to avoid.

http://www.cosmeticsdatabase.com/browse.php?sunscreens=1&worst=1&order=webscore+DESC

This link displays the worst ones out of all tested, but you can click at the top to show the best choices. I may have to start to looking for something else to use...I thought I was being safe.
