I really fucking hate mosquitoes.
Edited on Mon Jun-25-07 06:20 AM by seawolf
I just swatted a particularly large and greedy one that had already bitten me twice and was in the process of extracting blood from a third site.

No better way to start a Monday morning than a trio of itchy bites! :sarcasm:

:puke:

1. hate them hate them hate them
For most of us, they're just a nuisance.

For the rest of the world they are deadly, killing millions annually by spreading disease.

3. We have to spray/fog, otherwise they'd eat us alive.
DH just did that last night. Our town does it a couple times a year but it's never enough.

I hate mosquito bites.

7. I act as a mosquito magnet. There can be 100 people and one
mosquito in a large area and it will come and bite me repeatedly. The mosquito trucks spray in our neighborhood on a weekly basis, but I can't tell that it does much good. If I sit out in the yard or do yardwork I have to spray up with repellent or I'll be eaten alive.

10. Lay off the bananas & start taking garlic supplements.
The potassium in bananas attract skeeters big time. Garlic supplements make you less attractive to skeeters. I can't remember the last time I have been bitten by a skeeter, even the ticks don't stay on me.

11. Garlic supplements work on ticks, too? I didn't know that.
Both of my kids have had ticks on them over the last couple of weeks...it would be great to find something that would keep them away (the ticks, not the kids!) :)

12. They will still crawl on you, never had one dig in though.
I have six dogs that run on the farm, they also enjoy hoping up on the bed with me. I have found ticks crawling on me but never had them dig in. I was thinking I would give it to the dogs but it is HARMFUL to dogs & cats so thats out. (There is some conflicting opinions about it but why risk it?)

14. You would think that as dry as AZ is we wouldn't have the pests
but we do. And they carry West Nile Fever.
The little bastards leave Mr azmouse alone but feast on me.
I spray OFF all over myself but I think it's actually like skeeter salad dressing to them. Doesn't seem to help much at all.

15. I hate 'em with a passion.
Mosquitos in the Maine woods easily bite through jeans. They are the number one reason why I don't live outside the city (the other reasons are: blackflies, deerflies, horseflies and hunters).

17. I hate the little b^st^rds!
Just got back from a 5 day trip to Quebec w/ 90 middle school kids (I know - call me crazy!) Our tour guide was hysterical! When talking about the Indian Village we were going to visit he told the kids to wear long pants to protect against the "muskitoes". That's what I'm going to call them from now on!

18. Poor seawolf!

Haven't been allergic to mosquito bites for over 30 years. Used to get huge welts, but after a summer in Alaska, all I get now is a teeny-tiny red dot where the little bloodsucker took her meal.
