I called the vet (still the same guy), who wants to see Simba, do a physical exam and heart/lung check and see if he needs IV fluids for hydration. Mr. DTBK has to get to the hospital tomorrow morning, so the pet sitter is picking up Simba and taking him, then (hopefully) bringing home in the afternoon. Mr. DTBK said this afternoon Simba ate some plain yogurt and drank some water, ate a bit of food and turned up his nose at whatever treats had been purchased (as did Monty and Morrissey). I found a place near my home that delivers pet food free, so I ordered some Wellness Turkey Cans and Nature's Variety Raw Instinct kibble, which will be delivered to our door tomorrow. I'm hoping the vet doesn't find anything seriously wrong with little Bimba. Mr. DTBK's colleague posited that maybe Simba is just missing me. How I wish it were that simple and he'd be miraculously restored to health when I get home, but somehow I don't think that will be the case.
Tomorrow my niece is taking Bullwinkle925 and me to the Giants-Padres game - Russ Ortiz is leaving us tickets. I'm hoping I can enjoy the game and try not to worry too much about my baby.
Thanks to all who responded with recommendations and concern. :yourock:
