Screw the world. Dress and groom as you wish.

Be clean/don't stink/don't show "too much." The standard for purposes of this discussion.

Here's the deal: As long as my clothes are clean and in relatively good shape; as long as I am clean and don't stink; as long as my breasts/genitals/butt are not showing -- screw what anyone else thinks of how I look.

Hair: Who cares if my hair is "weird" by other standards? What do I care when someone tells me that a near-crew cut on someone of my size and shape is unflattering? It's my head. It's my comfort. Whoever says "you're too old for" or "you should cover your gray" or whatever else: they can go spit.

I've seen what I consider bizarre facial hair. What's my opinion matter? Not at all! It's not my face.

I have a friend who doesn't shave her legs or armpits. Who cares? Clean/don't stink -- IMO that's the standard. You're disgusted by pit hair on a woman? Don't look.

Don't expect me to pay much attention to you or your views if you wear a baseball cap backwards (unless you're a catcher) or cocked over one ear.

9. I detest office drag.

I look good, I just feel terribly uncomfortable. If I had to wear a skirt and hose, I'd find a different firm or a different line of work.

I dress like myself in the morning and take my clothes in. I change before I hit my desk and again before I hit the rode. It makes the commute much more tolerable.

11. Yep - as long as one is hygenic, it doesn't really matter.

Go with whatever you like.

I will add, though, that there are times that it's important to dress for a role or a specific function - wearing a teen whore outfit to a funeral is inappropriate; wearing a wedding dress to a wedding at which you are not getting married is inappropriate; wearing just cutoffs and sandals when you're a lawyer defending someone in court is inappropriate; and so forth.



But otherwise, absolutely - people should wear what they like, wear their hair like they like, have whatever facial hair they want, and so forth.

But, we do have, on the other hand, the issue of "does that outfit/hairstyle/whatever actually complement you?" I've seen people who just simply are not wearing stuff that looks good on them - stuff that could look perfectly fine on someone else. Hair styles that don't complement the head shape or body flow at all. Clothes that are too tight or too loose. Colors that don't work with the skin. And so on. I do like to see people dress in ways that highlight their natural features and work well with the body as a whole. It just looks better.

I am inked and pierced, just not there it can be seen, so I am not against Body mod at all. When I am not at work, I wear torn jeans, faded t-shirts and 10 year old Converse all stars or DrMartens. However that said, at work it's all about dockers and polo's. I have to, my job requires it.

What I am saying is this...I totally support the right for anyone to wear or appear however they want to appear, but that said, if you are too inflexible to adjust your appearance to some semblance of a societal norm, then you can't exactly complain if you have a hard time finding a job that pays what you think you are worth.

Dress how you want, but in doing so realize there may be consequences.

is becase when you eat food, instead of becoming fat inside of you, it just goes out your ass without you willing it to. The official website for the drug even tells you to wear dark pants while taking it.

Most workplaces have some kind of dress code (mine does but it's very casual) so as long as you meet that, who cares?

I am so glad that I have a job that allows me to essentially dress as I please. I wear shorts and sandals all the time. We have logo shirts that I wear most of the time when I am in the office. And we do have a uniform of sorts (a cap w/logo and shirt with patch on the arm). I don't shave my legs (there is not much there and less all the time) or wear make-up (sort of pointless when you are outside sweating all the time or getting splashed on the boat). I do shave my underarms (I know, TMI) but only because I figure deodorant works better that way and I am sort of casual about it).

i have to follow a dress code at work but i don't wear makeup/do my hair/paint my nail and i don't give a shit what anyone else thinks.

outside of the office, i'm a jeans and tshirt kinda girl and it's too damn bad if someone else doesn't like it

25. I applaud people who have the self esteem

to dress as they so desire. I am not tiny and while I'd like to wear my hair shorter, I do worry that shorter hair makes me look fatter than I am already.

I don't wear my hair long but it's not as short as I'd like.
