The Log Cabin Republicans really must be feeling extraordinarily stupid today....and Matt Drudge too. And all the other gays over on the Repub side.

Congratulations in advance :-) :toast:

By they way, their website has not been updated for weeks. They only post information when Bush does a good thing on gay rights (like meet with HRC, Log Cabins, etc.)

3. Andrew Sullivan is "bothered"
He's not quite sure what his President meant when he referred to "I will support any consitutional means necessary" to preserve the "sanctity of marriage"

Sully is quite perplexed by this. He's "disappointed"

But then he heard Pelosi and Daschle speak and then he slithered right back to his President.

17. "Disappointed"
This is another word that I'm tired of. Some people don't seem to get outraged or pissed, they just get "disappointed". I'm so tired of that namby-pamby language--especially when Democrats use it.

20. he wasn't "disappointed" at the time of Ashcroft's confirmation
Edited on Wed Jan-21-04 03:26 PM by cosmicdot
as Atty General ... Andrew was beside himself RE the movement to stop the confirmation saying it was radical, unprecedented and unheard of ... and, of course, wrong ...

of course, * would have backdoored him or someone just as evil to 'safeguard' our laws

he's a peculiar fellow

29. Sullivan is a creep. Best to ignore him.
Anyone that illogical, gets no attention from me.

It's just like in 1984, when Eugene McCarthy endorsed Ronnie; hell with him.

4. Is Drudge really gay?
Or did I misintepret a really good aside? If so, who is hard up enough to f*** that melon head? And hat on or off?

LCR's must be the most confused people alive.

5. Read David Brock's book "Blinded by the Right"
Brock makes it very clear that Drudge is gay.

6. I think those clueless morons must have missed it;
They are so busy wanting "their" tax money back, that they cannot be bothered with the progress of society.

Check out whose picture is on the front page of their website.

will allow Bush to treat them so publically with such disdain and still support him?

Heaven's I just DON'T get it.

Can they not see that despite any other differences, Dems and independent moderates are those who will stand for them? As a heterosexual female, I JUST DON'T GET IT!

8. Maybe it's Stockholm syndrome.
Bonding with their oppressors. There's a lot of that going on all over the place: look at all the working-class people who actually think Dubya's tax cuts will eventually help them.

Or maybe they're closeted trust-fund kids who haven't come out to Mater and Pater yet.

I read an article once (I don't remember where) where the author theorized that the problem with the LCRs is that they are predominantly white and male and as such are just the one strike (gay) away from rubbing elbows with all the other rich, white good ole boys. They think that if they can get over that one hurdle then the world will be their oyster. Should that day ever come I'm sure they will be just as charming as all the rest of the Repubs.

28. Look, the LCR HAVE to stay Repuke. Otherwise, what is their reason
for existence as an organization?? What would be distinctive about a group of gay Democrats, should they change over??? How could they make a living, doing that??? This is 'why'.

31. Lincoln is rumored to have been in an amorous relationship with his best
friend Joshua Speed. They lived in a log cabin and shared the same bed. Their letters to one another were quite flowery and fawning and after Lincoln married, they would correspond with TWO letters: the private one and the one the wife could see.

30. Log Cabin Republicans are misiniformed, if not just stupid
"George W. Bush was elected in 2000 by bringing Americans together."

That's a crock of cattle cack and they know it. A bunch of partisan swindlers, keeping the guilty unnamed by using their initials of JB, KH, SCOTUS, ensured a victory.

* had nothing to do with unity and if the LCR lot believe that, along with bending over backwards to limpy chastise * when they should be fuming with anger... (what I want to continue with is so offensive, it offends even me... and I'm gay!)

32. They want to keep believing Repubs wouldn't be knuckle draggers
were it not for big tobacco money. They actually REQUIRE anti-smoking ads pinning draconian policy on tobacco companies (rather than the Republican party) when they financially support GLBT events here in Southern California

25. Disallusioned?
That would suggest that it took up until today for you to determine that George W. Bush is a mean-spirited dickhead.

It didn't really take that long, did it?

For the life of me, I think anybody gay or African-American who votes Republican needs lots and lots of therapy. Are these folks so in love with tax breaks that they would sit at the same table with the Bush Administration? I'm as greedy as the next guy, but there are some things that just aren't worth it.
