Man punches 'rude' drive-thru clerk
PENN HILLS, Pa. (AP) - A man who thought the clerk at a fast-food drive-through was rude for not saying "please" and "thank you" punched her in the face, police said.

Duane L. Williams, angered by what he felt was the clerk's rudeness, walked into the store to complain just before 8 p.m. Wednesday, Penn Hills police Chief Howard Burton said Friday.

Before the manager could meet with Williams, he walked back outside, pushed open the drive-through window and punched the 19-year-old woman in the face. The clerk was bruised, but not badly hurt, Burton said.

"He didn't like the girl's attitude because she didn't say 'please' and 'thank you,'" Burton said.

2. that's awful!
I always shake my head when I see stuff like this, esp. here in Pittsburgh. People here are usually pretty polite. But to punch a girl in a drive -through?

4. "Williams told police
he had 'anger-management issues' when he turned himself in later that night, Burton said."

Gee, who would have thought?

6. If that's the penalty for no "please" or "thank you"
would he behead someone who was actually overtly rude?

9. Update from the neighborhood
I just got off the phone with mom, who tells me that this story is all the buzz at the grocery store next to the wendy's in the shopping center. According to the word on the street, the customer was treated rudely driving through the line the first time, went and saw the manager about it, was apologized to by the manager, drove through again, was treated rudely again, and then snapped.

11. Why did he drive through the second time?
Was he checking to see if his complaint had had an effect, or did the effort of complaining cause is hunger to return?

That's my guess.

Do You Want Fries With That?

I thought that was your voice
I thought that was my car
Now we ain't ever met before
But I know who you are
You're living in my house
And I'm living in a tent
And don't laugh, this second job of mine
Is paying both our rents
You're out here buying Happy Meals
And I'm eating rice and pintos
You so much as crack a smile at me, man
I'll come through this here window

Well you took my wife
And you took my kids
And you took that life
That I used to live
My pride, the pool, the boat, my tools, my dreams, the dog, the cat
Yeah I think that's just about everything
Oh I almost forgot
Do you want fries with that?

Your ketchup's in the bag
And a check is in the mail
I hope your chicken's raw inside
And I hope your bun is stale
I'm supposed to tell you
"Please come back"
But how bout this instead?
I hope you both choke on a pickle
Man, that would tickle me to death
I don't know what you're waiting on
You're holding up the line
Oh man, you ain't got no change coming back
Are you out of your mind?

Well you took my wife
And you took my kids
And you took that life
That I used to live
My pride, the pool, the boat, my tools, my dreams, the dog, the cat
Yeah I think that's all there is
Do you want fries with that?

Well you took my wife
And you took my kids
And you took that life
That I used to live
My pride, the pool, the boat, my tools, my dreams, the dog, the cat
Yeah I think that about covers it
Do you want fries with that?

The poor girl should sue Duane L. Williams! How is she ever going to open that take-out window without having fear in her heart? OMG She could be scarred for life ending her fast food career!

12. that song reminds me of my ex-boyfriends Dad.
His wife left him for his boss. I can't imagine a worse way to mess with someone than to destroy their home and work life in one fell swoop. :(

13. wow, he punched a woman, now if that's polite society
I'd hate to see what isn't. I bet he's fine with say, oh the politeness of a president who lies about a war.
