1. JUST WAIT A MINUTE THERE PAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't you go grouping the fine, upstanding, former Mayor of Cincinatti (R, of course) Jerry Springer in with the rest of the rabble!! THAT is quality television. The rest is crap though, I agree.

4. And, given the short attention span of most Americans,
I'm amazed at the popularity of soaps. (no offense, soap fans) They move so so so so SLOW.

6. I don't have cable :-(
I cut it off after getting pissed at the cable news. Too bad I can't turn it on for a few hours :-)

I heard that Sponge Bob is cute though.

8. If you get cable there are all kinds of trashy reruns that
are entertaining not to mention the soaps that are too awful for words. There is Star Trek, The Next Generation, The original Star Trek, Hercules, the Legendary Journeys and of course Xena, Warrior Princess. But nothing beats CNN for pure trash TV News, or if you find trashy too classy, you can wallow in the pig sty of the Fox News Network.

Then on the positive side, there is a half hour of BBC News and the News Hour with Jim Lehrer, but that's only one and a half hours of reasonably unbiased reporting.

So, you really are better off turning it off and turning on your stereo while reading that book.
