I decided I needed a coke.. Brought it into the kitchen, got me a nice big glass of ice, and as I reached for the coke can, I lost my grip on it.. It fell to the floor, and EXPLODED !!!! Of course it sprayed on two cats who took off like they were shot our of a cannon..

So..... I go to get the mop and start cleaning up the huge mess, and as I am putting the bucket into the sink, I managed to knock off a corningware plate with a 2 lb slab of softened butter.. The plate splintered into a zillion pieces and sent soft butter splattering the sink cabinet fronts, the stove, the dishwasher and the cabinet fronts clear across the kitchen..

Put the mop bucket down and had to clean up greasy glass slivers while trying to keep the other cats from "investigating"...

As I am doing this...of course my son in Concord picks that particular moment to call....


Somehow, I managed to hold onto the phone and clean up that horrific mess....


and all because I was thirsty.....sheeeez

I think if it happened to me, if it weren't for the butter, I could laugh mightily. Add the butter, though, and I'd be cranky. Damn hard to clean up, that is.

7. Reminds me of a couple of Archie Bunker scenes

when he tried to do a simple thing in the kitchen, something went wrong, leading to something else, then something else--a whole Rube Goldberg kitchen disaster.

to me. I clean the kitchen, mop the floor and a jug of maple syrup falls out of pantry on floor... I feel your pain.

But who says it's expanding consistently everywhere? You may have encountered a pocket of hyperexpansion in the fabric of space and time. If my theory holds up (and why shouldn't it?) somewhere a landmine that should've gone off didn't. :think:
