Redheads check in here!
How often do you get: "Are you related to so-and-so? You look just like him/her!" Did you want to change your hair color while you were in school? What names were you called?

For men: Are you often called Richie Cunningham?

This is the redhead support group thread. Join in!

3. Checking in!
I was called red on the head like a ____ on a dog which I hated with a passion.

Then there's the phrase, "I'll beat you like a red-headed step-child"

carrot-top

big red (and I've never been big but it made me feel that way)

and just "hey RED"

uuggghh:spank:

but African American people always seemed to like me and my red hair. I appreciated that.

But people would always ask me if it was from a bottle or what!?!?

26. Consider yourself lucky!
Mine is from a bottle when it's red -I'm naturally a blond; talk about getting teased! I can't count the number of blond jokes I've been told over the years. Kids called me "the albino" in school because I was so fair skinned and blond, and try buying an automobile as a blond-not fun!
I dye my hair red when I can afford it, and nobody questions if it's real or not because of my fair skin. What's frustrating is how quickly the color fades. If anyone knows of a product that keeps blond hair red, please let me know! I love the way I'm treated as a redhead; people speak to me as if I'm a respectable adult, not a floozy or a grade schooler. It's an entirely different life experience. you redheads are among the most fortunate, IMHO!

8. Top of my head is brown but...
My mustache and goatee are bright orange/red. I never knew this until my junior year of college because I shaved pretty regularly until finals week when I decided to forgo anything more major than showering and combing my hair for my grooming. Floor mates started calling me Redbeard which prompted me to look in the mirror around Wednesday.

I've had and shaved it off probably 4 times since then (I'm 31 now). It's back because my last girlfriend liked it, and now it kind of fits in with the image I'm trying to project as an entertainer (magician, juggler, balloon twister).

9. Red headed and proud
Never minded being a red head, didn't care for the nicknames but got lots of attention from the guys and some of the girls got pissed. I doubt very seriously blondes have more fun!

15. Another Redhead here
Most people don't consider me a redhead, because my hair now looks brown. As a child my hair was red, but as I got older It turned brown. But If I grow a beard or drop my shorts, It's clear that I am a redhead.

23. I have been asked to drop my
Panties in that past so that someone could make sure that I was a true redhead. My Hair has turned to a darker auburn over the years and I end up dying it brown all of the time.

16. Sherminator!
sucks being a kid with red hair.

"Are you Irish?"
"No, I'm Welsh and English"
"You look Irish"

I dyed my hair often when in HS, but that was my neo-punk rebeliousness more than hatred of my hair colour.

21. lifelong redhead
although I'm currently shaving my head as a fashion choice, my mustach and goatee are red. Mom and daughter are redheads, it runs in the family.

Mark Twain supposedly said that, while other humans are descended from apes, redheads are descended from cats. :-)

And only 3 in 100 humans is naturally redheaded.

I spent years and much money emulating them and faking the color. Once, my hair was pink. And not punk, I intended it seriously, just make a poor product choice.

Did you know (no, I'm too lazy right now and I have no science links to support it although studies exist) that redheads feel pain more intensely than other coloreds?

my edit: I meant people with other hair colors. I like redheads.

24. there was a study, recently
that redheads are much more resistant to meds such as anesthesia. An anesthetist I know said, "Duh."

I do know I have to take a bottle of tylenol to get any relief.

How about this? A friend of mine and I were discussing a woman we both know, and how we found her attractive. Then he hit me with this: "Too bad she prefers carpet to hardwood floors." I damn near wrecked the car! LOL

I just got it LOL.

I have had women come up to me and ask me what shade and brand of hair dye did I buy and I make up a color and tell them and hopefully it worked.
