Apparently, there's been a very serious problem with the Mars Rover; they're only recieving a tone that indicates some system failure, but no diagnostic data to troubleshoot it.

Well, I sure hope it is up and running again. After such a positive beginning, it would a shame for it to end without completing its mission.

knowledge we would gain by this amazing piece of technology.

I'm beginning to think that maybe that movie "Red Planet" from a few years back, might be real. Hmmmmm...

a ditch, filled with all that water they keep talking about. Its all a waste of money. There's lots of things to fix right here in "inner space", without wasting time and intellect on searching Mars.
