:grr:

2 1/2 hours on the phone + 2 disconnections to do a simple transfer of service.

Egads.

2. I ditched my DSL
and signed up with them. The service has been good so far, but then again, I haven't asked them to do anything other than hook me up yet.

5. I went through that shit ...
I moved from the 2nd floor to the 1st floor of my place. The internet worked fine for about 2 weeks, then I couldn't connect at all. I called about and said they had to "switch me over" and will take about 3 days. Sure enough, it took 3 days to do it.

What were switching, I don't know. But the apartment I moved into had their cable connnection turned off 11 months earlier. And I'm probably gonna be moving in a month, so thihs shit all over again.

6. I am on the the Comcast Hate Train!
I am sick of Comcast, their outrageous rates and their stupid commercials talking about how fabulous they are. They are greedy pigs and they suck. IMHO

7. Lol... I just went through Comcast hell too...
From Dec. 18 through Dec. 31, I had no internet access from home. Comcast insisted that it was my problem and all was well with them. From work though, I visited Comcast's online forums to see that HUNDREDS were affected in my area and Comcast told them all the same thing.
Anyway, good luck! (I got a free month for my "troubles".)

9. Cut the cable now, Will. Save yourself !!!
You are paying Big Brother to pump the steaming bilge of his propaganda into your mortal soul.

The Patriots-Pathers game will be on regular network TV.

You don't need that cable. Repent now (and get a refund).

12. My Comcast story
After 12 years in my condo, I was moving to a new house. I called Comcast and said, "I'm moving the weekend of July 18-21st and want to transfer my service to the new house. It's a new house, so the guy will have to come out and hook up the service."

We scheduled for the service in my condo to be cut off on the 19th and service in the new house to be hooked up the 18th.

On the 10th, I came home from work to no cable. I called Comcast and they said they would have someone come out to look at it that weekend. No one ever showed up and my cable was still out as of Monday morning. :grr:

I called them again and was told they could come out to look at it the next Tuesday. That being the 23rd, I told them that did me no good, as I was MOVING!!! I asked them to just make sure my account was credited as having been cut off on the 10th, instead of the 19th, as scheduled. Then they looked at their records and noticed that my service had already been cut off.

On the 18th, after closing on my house and puttering around it for several hours unpacking the few things I brought and setting up my fish tank, I was left wondering where was the cable guy? He was supposed to be there between 12 and 4 (I hate that), but he wasn't there by 4:30. I called Comcast who said he was not able to make it that day.

I got a $25 credit towards my install and we agreed he would come out the next day. At 5:00, there was still no sign of the cable guy, so I called Comcast. Sorry, he couldn't find it.

So again, we scheduled for the next day (Saturday, aka moving day). After moving (went VERY well, was completely moved and the truck returned by 1:00), I set about to grilling for my friends who helped me move and setting up the TV and stereo.

4:00 comes, and there's no cable guy. So I called Comcast and asked about it. They said he was running late, but he'd be there within an hour. Having already received the requisite $25 credit, they could not offer me any more recompense for my lost time.

At 6:00, STILL no cable guy, so I called them AGAIN. When the guy finally showed at 6:30, he was able to complete only part of the install as he was missing a tool (probably his brain). He had to reschedule for the following Monday to complete his work. I had to make him complete all of the inside work and as much as he could outside, as I was not able to take off another day of work.

Finally, that Monday when I got home from work, I had cable. I went 12 days without cable because Comcast is the home of the moron. :nuke:

15. I beg to differ.
Not about the stupid people, but I feel they're more widely disbursed.

And crazy people. There are a lot of crazy people in the world, keeping the stupid people company. And they turn them all loose on the same day.

18. Depends on the company.
One has the stupid supervising the crazy; another has the opposite. That way, we never know what's coming. I'll bet even within the company, there are differences. THose corporations are evil, I tell ya!

19. Don't EVEN get me started about comcast
I still have them because I'm not in an area where I could get a dish, but if I were I'd dump comcast in a minute.

Their billing department is atrocious and I can't tell you how many times they've screwed up simple tasks like hooking up the right cable to the right room and other really dumb stuff like that.

This is why I have DSL. I'm not about to have those monkey's touch my computer. I trust the phone company slightly more.

20. Comcast sucks, but
before reaming out the working slobs who earn crap at Comcast, remember that, if an organization does not work well for the customer, it is usually because the company is set up in a bad way.

Employees are hindered more than helped by the organizational structure, or way rules are written, or whatever.

They ususally try to do a good job DESPITE the company, not because of it.

Just my .02.

21. Are they part of RCN?
Don't order the bundled package which consists of cable, phone and Internet. I did and I am without phone service because I have a problem with calls that I didn't make and either I pay all 3 or they will cut off all 3.
They transfer you from dept to dept and after 2 or 3 hours of BS they hang up. You call back and get the same guy on the phone and he denies talking to you.

22. My dsl horror story.
I spent 6 hours with four technicians on the phone trying to get my dsl working again at one point. The first three did absolutely nothing but tell me my dsl modem was bad, but I informed each of them that I had two modems programmed exactly the same way and that it was highly unlikely that they both exibited the same failure when one had been sitting in drawer unplugged for six months.

The fourth guy did some stuff on his end and voila! Instant dsl again.

23. No, they work for Time-Warner around here
Where, inexplicably, every time the Packers are on Monday Night Football, our ABC station goes out. No other channels, just that one. Coincidence?

25. 4 months of intermittent service,
poor reception. New outside lines, "zapping" from the main office, rude people insisting that I had to unplug all lines from everything but the VCR in order to fix the problem; until someone finally figured out that the problem was the cable box.
