Pop Culture Clashes -- Take the poll!!!
The new book "The Mad Dog 100: The 100 Greatest Sports Arguments of All Time" has been getting a lot of buzz lately. Written by a sports talk radio host, Christopher "Mad Dog" Russo, and Village Voice writer Allen St. John, it examines, and tries to settle, the classic sports debates: Would Tiger Woods beat Ben Hogan? Could the '72 Lakers take the '96 Bulls? Was Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak greater than Ted Williams' .406 season?

Most everyone loves a good wrangle, but not everyone is into sports. That's OK, because there are lots of similar arguments in entertainment, pop culture and society at large, and most of them don't have all those statistics to memorize.

So we present the 20 greatest pop culture arguments of all time.

Something here you disagree with, pal? Want to argue about it?

9. Don't remind me of that song--it will be stuck in my head all day!
A friend, who is a Stooges fanatic, had that record and would play it over and over. And over.

6. Ginger and Mary Ann neck and neck
WTF? Mary Ann is the bomb.

Superman beating out Batman? Woh. The Dark Knight kicks the Big Blue Boyscouts ass in my book.

CNN getting whupped by Fox? Yeah, the idiots are all over this poll. I mean CNN is whore TV but Faux News come on.

There are some real odd results on this one people.

I mean please Curly is the ultimate frickin' stooge. Everyone knows this or should be taught it as part of the male growing up process.

Ugh.

7. There was a biopic on Saturday
about the Stooges.

For some reason, most women don't identify with them. But I've always loved them. Especially Curly.

8. Why has slapstick become a male stereotype?
You know the image of the guy sitting back in the lazy-boy recliner drinking a beer with his gut hanging out and his pants unbuttoned watching the Stooges and laughing his fool head off.

It is like almost become a male right of passage to sit back and watch the Stooges with your dad. The dad tells the son what parts to look out for and both laughing together. Hell, it is becoming like the Kodack moment for the testerone set. Damn, I am tearing up now ... Boo..hooo.

All kidding aside, I am glad to find a member of the opposite sex that appreciates the finer touches of nyuck..nyuck humor.
