Poll question: Will he plow my driveway?
What are the chances that the nice guy w/ the Kubota bobcat thingy out there, the guy from who knows where, who's plowing my neighbor-across-the-street's driveway, will come over and plow mine?

3. Yeah! If I saw a damsel in
distress with nothing on but a bathrobe and a cup of coffee...I would shovel the walk with my bare hands!

5. Nah--just show him Petey and tell him that unless he does, Petey will star

Edit: make that "starve."

Petey does star, though.

9. heheh
I would wind up in the ER for a thousand stitches if I tried that. Petey is so timid he'd burn the wind trying to claw out of my arms.

BTW, there's a new photo of Petey on the thumbnails page. :)

2. The best way to get him to do it is to get out there with a shovel
I once had to dig out my driveway from the street plow. (Why do they always dump the snow in driveways?) The little crappy snowblower we have wasn't working for whatever reason, so I tried to dig it out with the shovel. The neigbor across the street, who has a plow on his truck, took pity on me and cleared the front half of my driveway.

4. Holy shit.
Butch, the neighbor across the street, just brought our paper up and is now shoveling our steps. The wife of the guy with the bobcat thingy just yelled over that he'll be by later to do our driveway.

We have the best neighbors.

6. Somehow, I find it concerning.
"You wanna, uh, plow my driveway?"

"Yeah, I'm gonna stay home and, er, plow the driveway, if you know what I mean."

"Man, it is great to finally get the old driveway plowed, eh?"

hee....!

7. Digging out the mailbox
Winters in New Hampshire.
Sweetest sound I've ever heard was the guy I'd hired, plowing our 250' driveway at 5 a.m. Turn back over and catch another 40 winks.

But then I always had to go dig out the mailbox on the road. So much snow piled around it that the mailman couldn't reach it.

If I timed it just right, I'd finish about 15 minutes before the town plow cleared the road. Then go dig out the mailbox again. :grr:

I like Alabama. Just a tornado watch this morning.

13. So, you're wanting to get plowed, huh?
A bit early in the day for heavy drinking, isn't it?

14. Either a Cuppa Joe or some cookies are in order!
ANY man that digs out my driveway gets at least an offer for a cup of coffee or warm cookies outta my oven...

Right after we moved out here (we live in boo-foo teeny town) we got 18 inches of snow in 24 hours time. My poor husband was looking at his snow shovel and our driveway with a horrified expression. I think the four foot high drifts had him intimidated. While he bundled up to commence the digging out process I fired up the coffee maker and my oven.

After about ten minutes of him struggling to gain any headway, one of the neighbors came by with a tractor with a scoop on it. Randy the neighbor pulled up, asked if he needed some help, and had us dug out in about five minutes. We then spent the next thirty minutes drinking coffee and eating warm chocolate ship cookies with him...

Randy comes by after every significant snow now. :)
