Do you like Bible movies?

Okay as a kid I got a large dosage of the Ben Hur, Ten Commandments and The Greatest Story Ever Told kind of stuff on Saturday morning TV...

and its my conclusion that most bible movies are pretty boring unless...they focus on the sex and excitement...
my favorite would the Ten Commandments...only because its kind of campy and Anne Baxter (Nefertari) plays up her vamp role..."Moses...Moses"...and Yul was hot...

I recently saw the David and Bathesheba movie with Gregory Peck and it wasn't all that great...but there was the illicit love thing going on....

So what are your thoughts???

I love costume dramas and the costumes were cool too... so that may be why I liked it...

John Derek wasn't bad either....

5. The only really great Bible movie is....

....Jesus Christ Superstar. I love that movie and part of the reason is all those great looking guys. Plus a musical version of the death and rebirth of Christ is way better than the book one.

4. I saw Ben Hur in the movie theatre when I was 12.

I actually got so into the chariot race scene...well, I got up from my seat and started screaming and rooting! I forgot it was just a movie. :-)

But, I'm not so sure I would do the same thing with Mel Gibson's new flick, "The Passion". I'll probably skip that one altogether...at least, until it's on cable. (At least, if I don't like it I can switch channels and watch QVC or CNN!)

7. I loved Soddom and Gommorrah when I was a kid!

Lurid Italian flick (1962). Stewart Granger, Pier Angeli, Anouk Aimee...ooh...pillars of salt...sin city!
