3. One question in my mind is...
... is this increase mostly because more people are bothering to report this garbage or because there's actually more of it to be reported? Obviously, it's a combination of both, but which is the bigger factor?

4. Wow!

I figured most child porn servers were situated well outside US borders, since we seem to hammer on it so well.

That totally appalls me. And surprises me.

on edit: massive subject/verb agreement problems...

5. i always thought...
the US accounted for so many websites coz its cheaper and freer to host your site from the US. for instance, an indian porn website could be hosted in an american server just to avoid legal problems here. so it's not necessarily true that just coz most sites are in the US, they belong to US nationals.
but that's just my non-tech viewpoint, subject to errors.

besides, the content on such sites, i believe, mostly features kids from poor countries, where child abuse is common and parents sell their children for money. its a sick situation. i really don't think these porn industry-wallahs have the guts to exploit american kids, who are well protected by parents and guardians.
or do they?

6. Report CP sites on this address
If any of you for some reason run into CP sites (it happens even if you're not searching for porn) then please report these sites to ASACP.

Here is the URL where you can report such sites:
