4. Anything? Okay, why was John Candy

so wasted in films? He only ever got one great film role (Planes, Trains and Automobiles) and one good role in a so-so film (Uncle Buck--moley russell's wart...her tumor!), and a funny cameo in an otherwise drecky Home Alone as the Polka King of Sebogan.

Don't you find it strange that no old SNL or SCTV'ers have ever really acknowledge John's loss in public. When he died, I expected Moranis, etc, to speak publicly about him, but it never came. I miss him.

Is Bacon any good? Always looked kinda lame, thus I avoided it. I have a love/hate thing with Mikey Moore.

10. His size is one reason

He looks like a round bale of hay with legs and arms. Americans like their actors and actresses to be so damned skinny they could blow away in the wind. Now why was Chris Farley given big roles is because of his screaming maniac style. Candy liked to use suttlty in his act and was more jolly than anything.

At one point, didn't someone walk all the way up to the CN Tower?

And can anyone even DO that?? I mean, we're talking about a 1700ft structure here.

8. John Candy's character in the film does

As do a few swat guys.

They have run-up-the-stairs-a-thons every now and again, for charity, in real life.

11. Overall, not a successful film for me, but two standout sequences:

1. The propaganda war. ("Canadians. They walk among us.")

2. Dan Aykroyd as motorcycle cop, pulling over their truck, covered with hostile, anti-Canadian slurs, to remind them that their anti-Canadian slurs should also appear in French. Funniest thing Aykroyd's done in years.
