What movie have you watched the most times?
I can ALWAYS stop channel surfing when I see the first two Godfathers on cable. I just pick it up at wherever it's at and keep watching til it's over.

Also, I've probably watched Big Lebowski, Miller's Crossing, Raising Arizona, and Hudsucker Proxy 10 times each. At least.

Point Break. I'm not proud of this, but I start the summer off every May with a viewing of this, just to get me psyched for working out.

Fight Club is approaching the 10 viewings mark, as well.

Movies I retired secondary to over-watching are Mad Max 1 and 2, Blue Velvet, and Wings of Desire. I will pick them up again someday, but they became simply too familiar, like a top 40 single the radios still play six months later.

18. It rocks; Timothy Dalton and Anthony Hopkins both in their first movie
roles, and of course Hepburn is stellar. Love it! She was such a beauty even in her elderly years.

25. Hepburn was lovely in that film.
She was simply magnificent in "The Lion in Winter". I've thought it was the best performance of her career.

Both Timothy Dalton and Anthony Hopkins made very auspicious debuts in "Lion".

Hepburn and Peter O'Toole had such great chemistry together. I think they inspired each other to give great performances.

Another reason to love this film...John Barry's great score. The music fits the film perfectly.

Edited on Wed Jan-28-04 02:25 PM by noonwitch
Every year as a kid on tv, now it's on TCM on a regular basis.

"The Lion in Winter" is my absolutely favorite film. Everyone in it is perfect in their role. It's on TCM tonight at 10:00, if anyone who hasn't seen it wants to.

The 1950 English rendition of A Christmas Carol with Alistair Sim. I watch it every Christmas season at least once, and sometimes I watch it at other parts of the year for the amazing performances, the music, the glorious black-and-white, the cinematography. It's a masterpiece.

Also Harvey.

It's impossible to say which film I have watched the most, because I grew up watching movies with the family, mostly classics that we would watch over and over. By the time I was ten I had probably watched "Casablanca" 20 times!

Thanks to childhood viewing in NJ, "The Parade of the Wooden Soldiers" and "The Wizard of Oz," both annual events.

In no particular order, the others are:

Four Weddings and a Funeral
Pride and Prejudice (the MGM version from the '40s)
The Lion in Winter (a true DU favorite, it seems)
Persuasion (1995 version)
Sense and Sensibility (1995 version)
Enchanted April
Peter's Friends
The Ref
Much Ado about Nothing

On edit: I think that's "March of the Wooden Soldiers," also known as "Babes in Toyland" (the one with Laurel and Hardy)

Is anyone else more into movie watching than regular TV? I find that but for a few shows, I prefer to watch a movie uninterrupted. Really getting to despise commercials. x( Oh well.

Miller's Crossing is right up there for me. So are The Godfathers (I prefer Godfather II). I'll add to this Apocalypse Now, Gimme Shelter, Local Hero, Casablanca and The Stunt Man.

Miller's Crossing was CRIMINALLY ignored by audiences (and most critics) when it came out, and made about three dollars at the box office. It's finally out on DVD. I say it's the Coen Brothers' best. DU'ers, do yourself a favor and check it out.
