Poll question: Squeeze v. Crowded House? |
|
OK, I'll admit it, I have CDs from both. They counter balance the RATM side of the equation...
PS~ Just Crowded House too, not the pre/post groups/solo acts. Same with Squeeze if there are any?

2. I pretty much only know their biggest hits |
|
I absolutely love both "Tempted" and "Don't Dream It's Over". Whether both bands have equal strength in their deeper tracks... sadly, I do not know. Seems that both bands have (or had) a lot of potential though.

3. "Tempted" is a classic. |
|
Squeeze nailed it with that one.
"Weather with you" is probably my favorite Crowded House song...Depending on mood I suppose.

6. Squeeze, only by a nose... |
|
I thought the songwriting in both bands was excellent. But Squeeze edges ahead in musicianship. Glenn Tilbrook was a stunning pop guitar player. Don't forget Jools Holland (I like to think Jools has become Britain's Paul Schafer, no offense meant Jools...).

Is one of my favorite "songs I like, but can't understand the lyrics" of all time.

I had a vinyl LP of thiers from the early 80's of True Colors, and the record was etched with all these laser drawings. And the album rocked!!
But Neil Finn's recent solo stuff is awesome!!
