Why would ALGoreSupportCenter have a link to Bush/Cheney
gifts and supplies?

Here's the link I followed from the advertisment on the algoresupportcenter web page:

http://www.victorystore.com/bush_cheney.htm

Does Al Gore know about this?

2. I've always been concerned about that site
It always uses nasty pictures of Gore, especially when there's plenty of nice ones to go around (see http://cronus.com/gore for some), and also if you read deep into his site, it's generally uncomplimentary to Gore and contains some right-wing propaganda in the "biography" sections, which the owner of the site claims is "straight from an encyclopedia", but still he continues to keep the negative information there.

Surely a site that wanted Gore to be elected wouldn't by laying out a laundry list of his mistakes, nor would they be promulgating anti-Gore propaganda. Take it with a pinch of salt, but that site ain't necessarily all that it claims to be. Go here instead for a completely bona fide operation: http://draftgore.com/

10. This is the kid who has been banned from DU for spamming
and periodically comes back to whine about it in what is now the Ask the Admins board. His heart's in the right place; his brain isn't.

Drop him a line about the Bush-Cheney thing. No doubt he'll be mortified. Just don't tell him you're from DU or you'll never EVER hear the end of it.

5. Is this actionable?
Okay, maybe I'm a bit thick, but is this entire site a clever fake designed to fool visitors into accepting false info about Gore? I mean, that's what you're all saying, right?

If so, shouldn't someone bring suit?

And, furthermore, how despicable can they get, anyway? They never seem to hit bottom on the morality scale.

6. I don't know what is going on...
I just click the link in a post to check out the site, and noticed the advert on the top banner, I clicked it and it went to that site.

Now it shows, stuff about Kerry, turning Kerry into a woman (?), and some ad for Gore books...very strange.

I'm not making any accusations, I just thought it was a strange plae to advertise for Bush?Cheney gift material.

7. There's nothing you can do about it
They're doing nothing illegal. All's fair in love, war and politics. I've a few tricks up my sleeve as well, but they won't be as obvious as this one.

9. I've never even looked at the site...
Edited on Tue Aug-05-03 02:30 AM by MoonGod
... I just always thought the guy who posts here about it (I guess he runs it?) seems like an ignorant troll. It didn't even seem worth visiting that site.

But, yeah, if it is right wing propaganda, he needs to be banned and ppl should keep an eye out for him elsewhere so he's not injecting his poison into our conversation.

Hmm... Just did some looking. Based on WHOIS records, it appears this is the guy who runs the site:

http://www.homestead.com/moisesaloufanclub/presidentjackson.html

on edit: BTW, I think the reason for that Bush/Cheney link is that he's using a free message board hosting site. They probably take banner ads based on the "category" of the message board, and they usually just have one big "politics" category, not split out into "liberal/conservative" or what have you. (That's called demassification, when things get split down into smaller categories/audiences)

11. He's the guy I got into a fight with over Al Gore.
He supports Al Gore and no one else. Basically said my opinion didn't matter and I took him to task - which was fun.

The post was about WHY I didn't want Gore on the Democratic ticket next year.

12. *shrug* I'd be glad to see Gore on the ticket...
... I just don't think that the AlGoreSupportCenter guy is helping the cause. He's single-handedly giving the whole Draft Gore movement a bad name by lashing out at anybody who doesn't agree with every single word he speaks. I've never seen anything to indicate that he's doing this intentionally, but I'm not sure that makes much of a difference.
